Warner Music Group is Hurting Their Artists

I first became aware of this issue with the 2007 Led Zeppelin concert and David Meerman Scott's comments following the removing of the videos from YouTube. http://www.webinknow.com/2007/12/an-open-letter.html
Since then I have noticed that no Warner Music Group artists have a presence on the net much less sites like YouTube. What is really sad about this, is that it is the artists that are truly hurt by this. Without this kind of contact and support their fan base is weak and seems to fall off quickly.
Warner Music Group owns several smaller labels that are supposed to support more independent artists like Uncle Kracker with Atlantic, but still they dedicate time, money, and resources to pulling any reference to their artists off the Internet. You may only enjoy their music in a manner determined appropriate by WMG. So what happens to the artists? They have some of the shortest Billboard charts histories of any artist. Because it is difficult to find WMG artists music, people seem to just skip over it.
That all being said I wonder if we could wake up WMG and let them know the true power of the Internet. Although I know this will hurt the artists, I am suggesting that we boycott WMG and their subsidiaries music until they put the music back on sites like YouTube. However this cannot go only one way. If WMG decides to start allowing the world to see and enjoy their artist's music we need to make sure that we start buying and supporting the music from sites like YouTube.
So I am suggesting an experiment of boycotting and WMG music and let's send a message to these types of companies about what the Internet can really do for their business. If this works we could prove to the world what power the Internet has.
